WELCOME EVENING – GET
TOGETHER – St. Wolfgang
On Thursday, October 5, 2006, from 7.30 to 9.30 pm all participants and accompanying persons are cordially invited to a Welcome Reception in the Michael Pacher House by the Mayor of St. Wolfgang. Admission is included in the congress registration fee. Please register
on the registration form. On Friday, October 6, 2006, there will be a Social Evening in the “KURHAUS” Bad Ischl from 7.30 to 11.00 pm. Buses will depart in front of the Michael Pacher-Haus at 7.00 pm. For many years Emperor Franz Joseph spent his summers in Bad Ischl. The “Kurhaus“ was built in 1875. Top artists and scientists used to meet here; festive events like concerts and balls took place here. After the reception on the hotel’s terrace dinner will be served in the “Theatersaal”. During dinner you will be entertained with swinging melodies and a touch of romance by the “Salzkammergut Salonquintett”. Registration is required (fee € 20.00 per person). All participants
and accompanying persons as well as representatives of the industry
are welcome. |

If you want to take part
in any of the organized trips please register during congress
office hours at the PRO TRAVEL stand in the foyer / entrance
hall of the Michael Pacher Kongresshaus. Minimum number of participants
for all trips is three. Meeting point for all tours is the
entrance hall (foyer ) of the Michael Pacher Haus. |

SHUTTLEBUS TO SALZBURG |
A minibus will take you to the center of Salzburg. It is a one-hour-drive. Enjoy the day in one of the most fascinating and beautiful cities of the world. A walk around the historical center of the city will bring you to some of the architectural highlights of the place, such as the residence square, the “Getreidegasse“ (a shopping street) with its old iron signs, the festival hall, the horse pond and finally the birth-place of the most famous composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The building now houses a museum. |

TRIP TO BAD ISCHL |
A minibus will take you to Bad Ischl. It is a 20-minute-drive to the town center. Take a walk around the town with its lovely houses and parks. The famous spa town was visited by Emperor Franz Joseph I and his wife Sisi many times. One of the coffee houses of that time is still an attractive place to take a break. Make yourself at home at the coffee house “Zauner” or enjoy a tour around the house in the Emperor`s Villa. |

GUIDED TOUR IN THE VILLAGE OF ST. WOLFGANG |
Famous local guides will take you around the village. St. Wolfgang is very famous for its very impressive gothic altar in the pilgrimage church of Saint Wolfgang. There is a famous operetta called the "White Horse Inn" which made the village well known internationally. On the walk you will visit the place in front of today's hotel and the tour will end in front of Austria's oldest gingerbread maker right in the old center of the village. |

GUIDED WALK OVER THE "FALKENSTEIN" TO ST. GILGEN |
Meeting point at the congress center with hiking equipment. With a licenced guide you will start walking along the lake towards the “Falkenstein”. You will pass romantic viewpoints and enjoy the scenery. Get to know the area where Saint Wolfgang lived as a hermit. The tour carries on to St. Gilgen. With a boat ride in a relaxed atmosphere you will finish your walk. |

TRIP TO UNTERACH ON THE ATTERSEE |
In one of his most
famous paintings “Houses in Unterach on the Attersee“ (around 1916) Gustav
KLIMT captured the beauty of Unterach. At the beginning of the 20th century
a number of famous artists, writers, and scientists like Johannes Brahms,
Maria Jeritza and Viktor Kaplan used to meet here. During World War II Unterach served as a place of refuge for a pioneer of the pharmaceutical industry, Emil Bertalanffy, graduate in civil engineering, who founded one of the leading Austrian pharmaceutical companies – EBEWE Pharma. A guided tour through the facilities will give you an interesting insight into the high-tech manufacturing of specialty pharmaceuticals (oncology drugs) that are being used to treat cancer all over the world |
